What is this for?
Now I Get It! is a site that uses AI to make fascinating science comprehensible to all.
What does it cost?
For you, nothing. At least not while I can afford processing a few articles per day. But if there's strong demand, I'll probably add a simple cost+ pricing model.
What if I don't like the result?
Immediately after the result has been generated, you'll see a "Recreate" button. Click it then, or forever hold your peace.
Can I direct the AI or modify the result?
Nope.
Is this site associated with any institution or publisher?
Nope.
Can I restrict who sees the result?
Nope.
Is this site secure?
Security isn't a yes/no; it's a continuum. We have AI agents checking for bad stuff but sometimes bad actors can slip through. If you see anything weird, like a popup, link to external site, or form fields, email me at john@amroja.com.
I got a response saying the file was too large. What can I do?
There are limits to the amount of information current AI models can process. Sometimes, very large articles (>10MB) are just too big. If that happens you can try editing the PDF to remove the references section and re-upload. But as LLMs improve and their context windows increase, this problem will naturally go away.
Where can I find the files I processed?
Check the Gallery.
I closed the tab while my file was being processed. What do I do?
Wait a few minutes and you'll see the result in the Gallery (provided the article wasn't too big).
How many articles can I upload?
Currently, there's a limit to the number of articles that can be processed in a day. This is because every article costs money to process and I'm paying for it. So while you can upload more than one article per day, please be a good neighbor and don't try to use them all yourself.
Who are you?
