What is this for?
Now I Get It! is a site that uses AI to make fascinating science comprehensible to all. I built it for curious people.
Why would I use it?
Throughout our testing phase, we observed people using Now I Get It! for many great reasons. Some of these include personal interest, rapid understanding of papers from an unfamiliar field, or introducing kids to amazing science. We've had people convert English papers into Spanish web pages, university professors make companion pages for articles published by their lab, and venture capitalists looking to better understand investment opportunities. We even had engineers create translations of dense technical architectures in order to explain them to their teammates.
What does it cost?
Now I Get It! uses pre-paid credit packs. That way, you can process as many or as few papers as you like. One credit costs $3 US. Packs with multiple credits are available at discounted rates.
Wait...no subscription?
The subscription model is overused, IMO. How many subscriptions do you have that you never use? I certainly have a lot. I don't think it's fair to the customer to force them to subscribe to something that is a niche service that they'll use now and again. Now I Get It! is a niche service.
Why do you call convering scientific papers into web pages a Translation?
Because Now I Get It! takes a scientific paper written for one audience, and translates it into something anyone can understand.
What if I don't like the result?
If the result is broken or unreadable, contact us via the Help link and we'll take a look. If we determine the problem was caused by a bug on our end, we may restore a credit. But unfortunately we can't restore credits simply because you just don't like the result.
Can I edit pages?
Yes! You can edit text and formulas in Translations you created. Math is rendered using KaTeX.
What can't I edit?
Charts, graphs, and diagrams can't be edited because they're drawn by code at load time — to fix one, re-process your PDF. Most math formulas are editable, but occasionally one written in an unusual format won't be.
Can I customize the output?
Yes - to an extent. You can add custom instructions before clicking Translate. But please be aware that we can't restore credits on broken pages that had custom instructions.
Is this site associated with any institution or publisher?
Nope.
Can I restrict who sees the result?
All Translations are private by default. You can view them in your personal gallery. From there, you can choose to make a page shareable or public (meaning it will appear in our public gallery). Note that we take copyright very seriously. Please do not share translations from copyrighted works for which you don't own the rights.
Is this site secure?
Security isn't a yes/no; it's a continuum. We have AI agents checking for bad stuff but sometimes bad actors can slip through. If you see anything weird, like a popup, link to external site, or form fields, email me at
support@amroja.com.
I got a response saying the file was too large. What can I do?
We can now handle very large papers — up to several hundred pages. In some cases, an extremely long document may still exceed our processing limit. If that happens, try removing the references or appendices section and re-upload.
Where can I find the files I processed?
Head to My Gallery!
I closed the tab while my file was being processed. What do I do?
Wait a few minutes and you'll see the result in your gallery.
How many articles can I translate?
As many as you like.
Can I use this service in China?
Who are you?
I'm John. I like building, skiing, cooking, rock climbing, and surf fishing. I built this app for myself but so many people wanted it that I turned it into a product. You can learn more about me at
